This is Dinky the Duckling. He was made using the Jean Greenhowe Duckling pattern, a pattern that is so simple yet perfect. The pattern creates a perfect duckling shape and with a few extras you have a beautiful little duckling. I’m really happy with how Dinky turned out! I feel like something extra could have been done with the eyes to make Dinky that little bit more adorable but I have no idea what that is. Dinky is a plump little duckling and I think that all of the elements are in ideal proportion. I particularly like how Dinky’s body is not only the perfect size for his head but also contains a tiny little tail, to add a little something extra. The wings are also a great shape for this pattern, they are small in size but you can just imagine dinky trying to take flight with his chubby little stature. Dinky was made with a white shimmer wool which catches the light perfectly. The beak and feet were made with a bright orange which I feel compliments the white wool wonderfully. The eyes were done in a simple black wool. Dinky is sporting a woolly hat made using the innocent smoothie pattern. The wool I used was fuchsia and lemon, giving the hat a rhubarb and custard kind of feel. The little bobble on the top makes Dinky look extra snug and warm.
